Paintings
The portraits of Bartolomé Gonzales (1564- 1627), a court painter for the Spanish royal family belong to the most impressive portraits of the Castillo’s art collection. The large size oil paintings, which you can see from the lobby’s entrance and main staircase, portrait Prince Philipp, the later Philipp IV (around 1620) and Isabel of Bourbon, his later spouse (around 1620).
Monumental are both grand works from Fausto Morell y Bellet (1851- 1928) “The triumphant entry of King Jaume I in the City of Mallorca” and “The battle of Llucmayor”. The opulent works of art painted in Flemish style in the 15th century, portrait the history of Mallorca in an impressive manner.
Other paintings: Antoni Ribas, Fausto Morell y Bellet, Juan Pantoja de la Cruz.
